Going as far back as the 1950s, the Grammy Awards, (known by everyone as The Grammys was hosted on February 6th last weekend. This commemorated the 65th anniversary of the prestigious award show, presented by the Recording Academy of the United States.
On Sunday night, the adored and renowned Latina superstar Jennifer Lopez (JLo) made a surprise appearance! She swept the stage to deliver the first award of the evening, Best Pop Vocal Album (a title that ended up going to Harry Styles), displaying herself in a gorgeous rhinestone-covered navy Gucci gown with the sexiest V-neck dip paired with a sheer but flowy skirt.

Not to be missed with the seductive, elevated side-thigh slit featuring bejeweled semi-mesh sleeves. Of course, JLo did not shy away from accessorizing, by layering chunky Bulgari necklaces with silver chandelier earrings.
The set of rings she wore beautifully complimented the bedazzled wrist hems of the gown. She wore her signature deep-caramel colored hair with elegance as per usual. She also took the opportunity to tease us with gorgeous silver platform heels from her DSW collection; JLo Jennifer Lopez which tied the look together.
The superstar was accompanied by her newly married husband, Ben Affleck in the audience who kept it sophisticated with a black suit making her shine further!
Jennifer Lopez is an iconic powerhouse icon, associated with the name “Grammys”. More specifically Grammys red-carpet fashion. After all, how can we forget the iconic Versace “green dress” made of silk chiffon worn by her at the 42nd Grammy Awards in 2000? That dress alone was a moment of pop culture history referenced to this day. So it’s no surprise to see her in such extravagance this year too.

The picture of her in last Sunday’s dress has reached over 1 million total engagements on Instagram. It seems like everyone is loving the dress as much as I do! Personally, I love the dress not only because it fits her like a glove, but because the silhouette and draping is similar to her green dress. I’m not sure if this is intentional, but I love the sense of nostalgia it gives to us!
The dress itself is very ballroom-esque with a mix of pageantry and glamor. It’s very much a Hollywood red-carpet mystique with its over-the-top lavishness.
All that bling, glitz, and glamor is so on-brand with JLO. She definitely brought it to the table with this potentially timeless look!
Although Jennifer Lopez wasn’t a nominee for this year’s music categories, she still slayed and left her mark (as per usual). But don’t let that underestimate Jenny from the block! Her upcoming album release might position her as a nominee for some of next year’s awards.
Last year, the singer announced the sequel to her 2002 album This Is Me… Then will come out sometime this year and is set to narrate “the emotional, spiritual and psychological journey that she has taken over the past two decades”. Can’t wait to see what this triple threat has to offer!
